Lapin Capture

Lapin Capture is a tool written to assist scientists performing the Landis technique to measure the permeability of a vessel. The tool aids the scientist by allowing the capture of frames from experiment video recording and the measurement of artifacts within these frames using a bespoke user interface.

For more examples of the interface please see the Screenshots section.

Compatibility

Lapin is currently only compatible with Microsoft Windows athough support for other operating systems may be made available in the future. Lapin is designed to work with inexpensive consumer USB capture devices and has been tested against a Pinnacle Dazzle Video Capture 85. However, Lapin should be compatible with most video capture devices available for Windows.

Since Lapin is designed to work with low end USB capture devices it makes no attempt to read any timing signal provided by a capture card. Instead determines the frame time based on the digital clock timestamp that is expected to be on frames.

Lapin is currently in very early beta and hence is subject to change in the near future.

Data Export

While Lapin calculates permeability in real time based on the data recorded it is also possible to export all recorded results to a simple comma seperated file which in can be imported into MS Excel or any other graphing package.

Lapin can also store complete data sets to its own XML file format.
