Just done a round of a play testing on Interferon. Generally this consists of dropping a webstart URL on IRC and IM to some few people. Unfortunately the feedback for this game has come back in polite terms "It's a really interesting concept" to the more honest "Without dodging bullets it's just dull, I'd give up now". Keep in mind the waves are test data so it's extremely hard now.

Try it for yourself here

So, it seems this one is over. Instead of pissing against the wind I think I'll just bow out now. Not sure what I'm going to do with my spare time now - maybe take up gardening. It's all seeming rather pointless right now - I'm not writing games that are fun any more - I'm just coding.

Time to stop and work out what the hell I'm supposed to be doing, instead of just constantly rolling out the code. Thinking about it just makes me depressed, what I need is:

  • Ideas
  • Talent
  • Motivation
  • Holiday

Maybe not that in that order.
